WELCOME TO THE FORT WORTH PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION

Renovations to improve the Gallery at the Central Library are now complete!

Improvements were made to the HVAC, lighting and sound systems. All of the beautiful wood floors featuring a herring bone pattern were refinished and they are now restored to their original beauty. Additionally, an acoustical fabric ceiling was installed which has enhanced the aesthetics of the room and vastly improved the acoustics in the space. New furniture and rugs complete the look, making the Gallery a beautiful Living Room of the City.

Funding for the project was made possible by generous contributions from the Amon G. Carter Foundation, the Sid W. Richardson Foundation, Betty Sanders, the William E. Scott Foundation, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation and an anonymous donor. The Foundation deeply appreciates this support as these enhancements create a far more versatile space and will be enjoyed by many members of our community for years to come.

In April the Foundation hosted a luncheon and a reception to introduce the Living Room of the City and to honor the donors, public officials and many patrons of The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation. Mayor Mike Moncrief thanked the Foundation for this marvelous gift to the city and invited the citizens of Fort Worth to come and experience the relaxing atmosphere of the Gallery while using and enjoying the Central Library. The Gallery is a perfect venue for a wide range of public and private events, meetings, lectures, art exhibits, concerts, receptions, and more. We encourage you to come downtown to the Central Library Gallery – the new Living Room of the City!
