The Fort
So it’s been 5 years since we moved to The Fort. It seems longer and shorter all at the same time. It’s the people that I love the most—they are genuine, welcoming, friendly, and open-minded. I’ve been honored to be invited to join, participate, connect, and create new friendships.

I have never lived or even visited a place where EVERYONE loves their city and LOVES talking about how much they LOVE their city.

But after a couple of months, I got it. I GET IT!

It’s not perfect here and that’s where the collaboration comes in. For every concern, there’s a voice that emerges to gather folks together to discuss, plan, organize, and make a difference.

Keep up the good work my friends because we all love The Fort and it keeps getting better!

P.S. One of my favorite 4th graders wrote the above list last year and it has helped guide me. “Rules for 3rd Grade” by Brooks D.
