Science, Technology, Engineering and Math: Education for Global Leadership

What is a Makerspace?

A Makerspace is a creative, DIY place where people can gather to create, invent, tinker, explore and discover using a variety of tools and materials. Makerspaces are as unique as the people they serve – artists, builders, crafters, graphic designers, engineers and even those who just tinker, are all “makers” in their own way. This gives them a space to explore new skills. As an extension of the Panther Lab at the Northwest Branch Library, we have introduced our Mobile Cat Makerspace Carts to several branches throughout Fort Worth.
