Gifts Through Your Will

A charitable bequest is one of the most meaningful legacies you can leave for your loved ones and your favorite organizations. These types of planned gifts can be a way for you to contribute money to The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation while also realizing some of your estate and financial planning goals.

If you have already included the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation in your estate plan, THANK YOU! We hope you will let us know by completing this confidential form. We want to thank you and learn how you would like to be recognized for this gift.

Below is a sample bequest language that might be used to designate a fixed sum or percentage of your assets to the Foundation.

“I give to The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, 500 W. Third Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102 (Federal Tax Identification Number# 75-2486106) the amount of $_______ or ______% of the residue of my estate.”

Gifts with Beneficiary Designation

Making a gift to the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation by beneficiary designation from a Transfer on Death (TOD) accounts, is a simple and tax-efficient way to fund your legacy and avoid the probate process. To include the Foundation, simply contact a representative of the institution that manages your account or policy and request a “change of beneficiary form.”

Individual Retirement Account (IRA)

Making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian payable to a qualified charity, is a great way to support the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year.

The Will Courtney Legacy Society

The Will Courtney Legacy Society recognizes the generosity of individuals who, during their lifetimes, include the FWPL Foundation in their estate plans or make another type of planned gift. Member benefits include invitations to exclusive gatherings and recognition in the FWPL Foundation’s annual report unless anonymity is requested.
