Music Lessons & Instrument Lending: Making Music Accessible to All

Everyone should have the chance to learn music — not just those who can afford an instrument.

The Fort Worth Public Library’s music education program provides free, beginner-friendly lessons and access to real instruments for anyone eager to learn. From guitars and keyboards to ukuleles and violins, the Library now lends nearly 20 different types of instruments to patrons of all ages and skill levels.

Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or rediscovering a passion from years past, this program makes music learning approachable, affordable, and community-centered. Borrow an instrument. Take a lesson. Start playing — all at no cost.

Over the past year, nearly 500 instruments have been checked out by aspiring musicians across Fort Worth.

For many, this program has opened doors that once felt completely out of reach

Access to the arts shouldn't depend on what you can afford. It should depend on your curiosity, your creativity, and your willingness to try something new.

When you support the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation, you help remove financial barriers and create more opportunities for people to express themselves through music.

Support music education. Give the gift of learning.
